Despite our freezing temperatures, I've been able to stay socially active. The past two Monday evenings, I've gone to Highland to play trivia with Jennifer, Cary, and Beth; we're not very good but we have fun. I had the girls over one evening for food and drinks, and I spent a couple of hours yesterday afternoon, learning folk dances with a handful of octogenarians. I've had dates with the two scientists I'm seeing, and I met someone new; he's from Asheville but lived in the Orlando area for twenty years, and I agreed to meet him for drinks Friday night. I try to keep an open mind when I meet someone new, so I set aside the poor date texting etiquette I'd had with this guy. I arrive for our date, and as I walk to the door, he gets out of his car, already smelling of alcohol, I didn't say anything, but when we sit down he shares that he was drinking tequila before he arrived. We get our drinks, and I'm having fun talking to him; we have that Florida connection. We order a second drink, and I'm taking my first sip, when he asks if he's coming home with me tonight. I'm thinking, "Did you not read my dating profile?" and I tell him no. He spends the next 30 minutes trying to persuade me otherwise. When he realizes I'm going home alone, he looks at me and says, "So I guess we're splitting the check?" The scientists are both well mannered gentleman; something really important to me. I had a date with each of them last week...identical dates. Same restaurant, same dive bar to play ping pong; both dates equally enjoyable; I'll be seeing each of them later this week.

This dudes dreads were almost to his ankles. I can't help but be impressed with that kind of dedication.

Scientist H and Scientist D.
