It was a pretty quiet weekend. Saturday morning, Megan Oliver and I went to the farmers market, but alot of the vendors were already wiped out just a couple of hours after opening; I learned that many of the shoppers at the market are toursits. Saturday afternoon I had a date with a cheesemaker, and yes, he did give me some freshly made mozzarella...it was really good.
Sunday we awoke woth the same excitement that we have on Christmas morning, The Big Crafty was being held downtown, and instead of being a vendor, Megan took the day off and enjoyed visiting with artist friends. After and hour and a half, we were hot and overwhelmed by the crowds, so we came home and went into full introvert mode.
Today I joined Sams club; never thought that would happen as I'm a die hard Costco fan, but we have no Costco in Asheville, and, well...you know how I feel about Walmart. Megan was with me and as she walked throught he store made the spot on observation that, "It's like the Big Lots version of Costco". I did find an office chair, so now I can sit at my table and paint, and yes, I did enjoy assembling it, because Im weird like that.
I bought two prints from one of my favorite artists, Shannon Newlin, and Megan bought the original oil painting that Im holding.
