The first day of fall...yes, it was last week, but we went from 90 degree weather,on September 21, and woke up the following day to a chilly 48 degrees, with a cool breeze that had leaves falling from the trees like confetti on New Years Eve; and the weather has stayed that way with autumn in full bloom.
The past week has been busy, a cheese tour for 53 people last Friday, selling cheese at the farmers market in the morning, and a fancy date to Limones, and the ballet on Saturday, with drinks at Chestnut, and Ruhbarb. Sunday was the Western North Carolina Cheese Fest, and not only did we sell cheese, but Victor cooked up his Halloumi, and served it three ways, plain, with sliced tomato, and with apricot jam. I would have loved to have taken pictures, but we were slammed, running out of halloumi, just 1.5 hours into the festival.
Victor has a beautiful backyard with a stream running though it, and he cleared it, had a whole lot of dirt brought in and leveled it out. We went to a stone yard and looked at rocks and pavers, bought and planted five juniper bushes, that resemble Italian cyprus, and have plans to make the space into an outdoor dining/entertaining area.
Our four semi ferral cats were caught and fixed, and now live outside the studio, and the four kittens will be fixed as soon as they reach two pounds. We plan on finding homes for them, although there are a couple Im quite attached to. Because we bottle fed them and loved on them, they are the best and sweetest lap kitties.
