Its been a fun week. Tuesday was Brendas birthday and she took the day off of work; she manages the physical therapy practice I go to. I met her, along with Jennifer and Rylie, at Mountain Madre for lunch, which included a margarita, the first one I've had in probably ten years, It was good, and tasted just like the ones I make.

Our next stop was the south slope, and a short pour at Greenman, enjoyed on their roof top deck. We were the only people there. At 4 o'clock, we walked to the Chemest and did a gin tasting, where I learned that I don't like gin. Next door to the Chemist is their bar, The Antidote, and that is where we met with some of Brendas friends and co-workers. I had a martini; my first ever. I'm not a fan, and the rest of the eveneing drank water, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Wednesday was spent trying to figure out where to put all of the stuff stacked around my guest room. I live in 1000 sq feet, with no storage space other than a small closet in each bedroom, and a tiny coat closet that holds my vacuum. Currently everything is shoved precariously in a closet, and I'm fearful of opening the door.
Thursday I ran errands with Megan and by mid afternnon was curled up on my sofa, cold and exhausted. I put my pajamas on at 3pm, dozed off and on until 9:30, and slept until 7:30. I normally sleep six hours a night, and don't nap, so all I can think is that I was fighting off something.

Friday Jessica, Ray and the kids arrived, shortly after lunch, and we lounged around eating junk food. I don't usually eat junk food and cookies, and now I remember why. It makes me irritable and feel gross.

Saturday, was my day to spend with Jessica celebrating my upcoming birthday; it's the reason the family drove up from Florida. Jessica and I started the day with Kate tagging along, first with a trip to the farmers market, then brunch at my favorite spot in Weaverville. In the afternoon we dropped Kate off at Megans, and Jessica and I went downtown. We walked around doing a little shopping, and did a gin tasting t Cultivated Cocktails. Nope, didn't like or drink the gin. I ordered my standard old fashioned, and Jessica got a fancy s'mores drink. We stared talking with a woman at the bar, and discovered that her birthday is also on the 23, and she's too is turning 60!

We walked around some more, stopping in at Horse & Hero, saying hi to Noah, then shopped a little at Hazel 27, before walking to the SW building to have a cocktail at The Times Bar, where I had a fancy version of an old fashioned.

Dinner was pizza at a new place, I think called Harvest. Its in what used to be a beautiful, but collapsing old building. The venue is stunning, and the pizza delicious. We went to the roof top, (it was raining and windy) to snap a quick photo of the view. Before leaving we snapped a bathroom selfie, because I think thats whats missing from my dating profile.

More pics from the day.
